Here are some statements about the lifecycle of a small and a large star.
A When the hydrogen runs out, it will go on getting hotter and expanding until it becomes a red supergiant.
B As the nebula collapses it gets hot. A star is formed when it is hot enough.
C A star may shine for a long time as a main sequence star
D It then explodes as a supernova. A supernova throws hot gas and dust into space, and may shrink to become a black hole or neutron star.
E Stars are made from massive clouds of dust and gas called nebulae. Gravity pulls the dust and gas together.
F Some stars are big enough to be massive stars.
G Then the small core contracts under the pull of gravity. It becomes a white dwarf which fades and changes to a black dwarf as it cools.
H When all the hydrogen has been used up the star expands to become a red giant, the outer layers of which go off into space

Using the given table about the life cycle of a small and large star, complete the following questions:
i. Choose the statements that describe the lifecycle of a small star. Write the letters in the correct order. You will not need to use all the letters.
ii. Choose the statements that describe the lifecycle of a large star. Put them in the correct order.
Note: You may have to re-use some of the statements used for life cycle of small star.
