Heya !!!

here is your answer !!!

given =

x = 3 + √ 8

y = 3 -√ 8

on squaring and adding both x and y we get

=>. ( 3 + √ 8 ) ² + ( 3 - √ 8 )²

=>. 9 + 8 +. 6 √8 + 9 + 8 - 6 √8

=> 9 +9 + 8 + 8

=> 34 ----------------(1)

we have to calculate the value of

1 / x² + 1/ y²

=>. x² + y ² / ( xy)²

{ x² + y² = 34 } from equation 1

=> 34 / { (3 +√8 ) (3 -√8 ) }²

=> 34 / ( 9-8 )².

=> 34 / 1 ².

=> 34

hope it helps you dear!!!

thanks !!!

hence option number B is correct !!

mysticd: = 2 [ 3² + ( √8 )² ]
mysticd: = 2 [ 9 + 8 ]
mysticd: = 34
mysticd: answer should be half what you posted here
mysticd: ok , no problem the user already accepted.

Hey !!!

x = 3 + √8 and y = 3- √8

then 1/x² +1/y² = ?

for that just put the value which is given ..

let's see

1/(3+√8)² + 1/(3-√8)²

=> (3 - √8)² + (3 +√8)²
----------------------------------
(3+√8)² (3-√8)²

=> 9 + 8 -6√8 + 9 + 8 + 6√8
--------------------------------------------
{3² + (√8)² + 6√3 } {9 + 8 + 6√3)

=> 34 /{(3+√8)(3-√8) }²

=> 34/(3²-√8²)²

=> 34/(9-8 )²

=> 34/1

= 34 Answer

Hope it helps you !!!
