Answer:

It is quite true fear and hesitation don’t let us develop our potential into abilities and capabilities. Success can only be achieved by coming out of comfort zone. The limits of our comfort zone are created by fear, hesitation, and procrastination.

In the story His First Flight by Liam O’ Flaherty we see the young seagull had fear of jumping from the high sea ledge to fly; his brother and sister had already made their first flight. Everyone was waiting for him to jump and fly and join them on the plateau. He kept sitting on the ledge feeling hungry.

However, when his mother made a plan to help him come out of his fear and hesitation, he learnt flying.

In conclusion we can say in order to be successful we will have to overcome fear and hesitation.

Answer:

"The theme of the story dictates that hesitations and fear do play necessary parts in everyone’s life but in order to reach the final goal or achieve success, we must overcome them. The young seagull was both hesitant and afraid but his determination that resulted out of his anger for his mother helped in forgetting that he was afraid of flying. He couldn’t fly because he couldn’t muster up the courage but when he did, the two words faded away."
