Heterocercal Tail is found mainly in Fishes like Sharks, bony fish, etc.

It is a type of tail in which the vertebral column is turned in up position which extends in the dorsal part of the tail fin.

It is majorly found in the families of bony fish - Polydontidae and  Acipenseridae.

Here in this tail one of the lobe is smaller than the other lobe. And the tail ia seen as the outgrowth of vertebra.
