Hey!
Let the son's present age be x years.
So the father's present age will be 50-x years.
After 5 years,
Son's age= x+5years.
Father's age = 50-x+5= 55-x.
As per the question,
55-x= 3(x+5).
55-x=3x+15.
3x+x=55-15.
4x=40.
x=40/4=10.
So son's present age= x= 10 years.
Father's present age= 50-x= 50-10=40years.
