Alexander Fleming was a Scottish physician, a microbiologist and pharmacologist.
He is remembered for his discovery of the first antibiotic that is Penicillin in the year 1928. For his discovery of penicillin he was awarded with Nobel Prize in Physiology or medicine.
Also discovered an enzyme known as lysozyme in the year 1923.
He was knighted for his scientific achievements in the year 1944 and was voted as third 'Greatest Scott' in an opinion poll.
He died in the year 1955 at the age of 73 in London, England.
