Heya Mate!

This is what i learned and these points are from my reference book.

ANSWER(Advantages)

1 In self-pollination, there is least possibility of failure and an almost universal phenomenon in bisexual flowers.

2 For self-pollination plants are not to depend on external agents to carry Pollens that is why the process is easily Secured.

3 it produces healthy progeny, it results in the production of more viable seeds.

4 plants are better adapted in nature and the possibility in the production of new varieties.

Disadvantages

1 Self-pollination is continued generation after generation, it results in weaker progeny.

2  cross-pollination, plants have to depend on various external agents and there is wastage of pollens, specially in anemophily.

3 Allows plant to be less resistant as a whole to disease. However, it does not need to expend energy on attracting pollinators and can spread beyond areas where suitable pollinators can be found.

4 It is a wasteful process as many pollens are lost.
