Given:
Number of cubes in columns of 4 cubes = 1 * 4 = 4.
Number of cubes in columns of 3 cubes = 2 * 3 = 6
Number of cubes in columns of 2 cubes = 3 * 2 = 6
Number of cubes in columns of 1 cube = 4 * 1 = 4.
Total number of cubes = 4 + 6 + 6 + 4
= > 20.

sorry sir but I can't understand. Can you explain clearly
level 1 * (Number of cubes). See from the bottom, it is level 1(or) row1, in that we have 4 cubes.. so 1 * 4... in level 2(or) row 2, we have 3 cubes, so 2 * 3
