the number of side is increasing by one...
like in a) 3 sides, in b) 4 sides, in c) 5 sides... so in d) 6 sides most be there....
now, the number in the shape is ..... no. of sides × (1+ the no. of side)
like
a) 3×4=12
b) 4×5=20
c) 5×6=30
so,
d) 6×7=42.
