The law of conservation of Mass states that matter can neither be created nor destroyed in chemical reaction.
Example : Consider the formation of water molecule. Hydrogen combines with oxygen to form  a water molecule.

The law of conservation of mass was given by A. Lavosier in 1774. According to this law 'Mass can neither be created nor be destroyed in a chemical reaction'. For ex take any two chemicals in a beaker let the solution do not get mixed and weigh its contents carefully. Then put a cork on the flask and swirl it and weigh it again. The mass of the flask will remain constant.
