Hey!
Here is your story...
I met Manjit at a young age.A charming young boy, he is.The moment we met each other, we became best friends.I knew that all boys at my class would envy me by keeping such a charming and intelligent friend.
The years passed, and we grew up.Just then, I got a phone call from Manjit. He expressed his happiness by saying that he is going to get married!I congratulated my friend and was really proud of him.The wedding was to be scheduled after two weeks, and I got a fancy suit all stitched up and ready to go.
The weeks passed.I came home from work earlier than usual, so that I can get ready for Manjit's wedding. When I stepped into the house, I heard a moaning sound. It sounded like Father's.I dropped my bag on the sofa and rushed to the room, to find him crying, his hands on his chest.I quickly rang up for the ambulance, and in half an hour they came. The doctor checked Father and came to the conclusion that he got a stroke and had to be admitted for four days at the hospital.I knew Father would feel lonely, so I accompanied him, in spite of remembering Manjit's wedding.
The days had passed.I visited Manjit's new fancy bungalow, and found him angry. "Where were you," he asked. I replied that I was at the hospital since my father met with a stroke. To my surprise, Manjit said, "After admitting your father at the hospital you should have come. You should have danced at my wedding. You neglected me, that too, in my wedding day.I do not want to keep friend ship with you." I kept looking at him, speechless. Though charming,he might be, I learnt two lessons,
Never to judge a book by its cover, and
Beauty is not skin-deep.
