\Large{\underbrace{\underline{\sf{Understanding\: the\: Question}}}}

Here in this question, concept of laws of reflection is used. We are given different conditions and are asked to find angle of incidence or reflection. We know that normal( imaginary line) of the mirror is always perpendicular to the surface. We can solve this problem by applying these concepts.

So let's do it!!

__________________________

★ Answer 1:-

Angle of incidence is the angle between incident ray and normal.

It can be obtained by:

Angle of incidence=Angle of normal- angle b/w incident ray and mirror.

Angle of incidence=90°-40°

Angle of incidence=50°

According to law of reflection:

Angle of incidence is equal to angle of reflection.

So, both angle of incidence as well as reflection is 50°.

★ Answer 2:-

Here, we are given angle b/w Reflected ray and mirror which is 23°.

Angle of reflection can be obtained by:

∠reflection=∠Normal-∠reflected ray and mirror.

∠reflection=90°-23°

∠reflection=67°

Angle of incidence will be equal to angle of reflection by law of reflection.

So:

Angle of incidence is 67°.

a)given that the angle between the plane mirror and incident ray =40°

angle of incidence=90-45=50°

angle of reflection=angle of incidence=50°

b)Angle r +23°=90°

Angle r =67°

using law of reflection, we have :

angle i =angle r =67°
