PSU stands for Power Supply Unit.It is the device which is used to supply power to the computer. It is of two type-:
1.Linear Power Supply
2.Switch Mode Power Supply(SMPS)

Today the SMPS is used more than Linear Power Supply because of some instability and power fluctuation reasons. Computer need a stable power supply because if computer didn't need enough power it will shut down immediately. It converts the AC current into the type of current which the computer needs, the DC.

If you are building a custom PC you have to buy a SMPS , you will not need a USB bus for it. It uses a 20/24 pin, 8-pin and 4-pin connector for connecting your processor , HDD etc.
And if you are buying a pre built PC you will get it with the CPU case.
