cos means adj.side upon hypo side.

tan means oppo.side upon adj.side .

Exact Definition of Trigonometry :

Trigonometry word is derived from Greek which means, Trigo mean ,"Triangle" or metron means measure. In this Section, We are learning about angles , length , 2D and 3D dimensions.

It is a branch of Mathematics in which that Studies about angles , length and measurements.

[ Note : Trigonometry is found all throughout geometry. ]

There are Some function such as Sin , Cos , tan e.t.c

Sin θ = Perpendicular / Hypotenuse

Cos θ = Base / Hypotenuse

Tan θ = Perpendicular / Base

Cosec θ = Hypotenuse / Perpendicular

Sec θ = Hypotenuse / Base

Cot θ = Base / Perpendicular
