• Let the no. of boys be 4 x and no. of girls be  3 x .
• If 20 boys more came :

  Now no. of boys = 4 x + 20

• If  the no. of girls less=  12

   Now the no. of girls = 3 x - 12

A/Q,  (4 x + 20 ) /(3 x - 12) = 2/1

After cross multiplying , we get

⇒ 4 x + 20 = 6 x - 24

⇒ 4 x - 6 x = - 24 - 20

⇒ - 2 x =  - 44

∴ x  = 22

No. of students in class = 4 x + 3 x = 7 x = 7 x 22 = 154
