The force of attraction b/w two stationary point charge is

(i) Directly proportional to the product of the magnitudes of the two charges and

(ii) Inversly proportional to the square of the distance between them.

■This force acts along the line joining the two charges.

If two point charges q1 and q2 are seperated by distance r , then the force of attraction b/w them is such that

f = k \frac{q1q2}{ {r}^{2} }

Where,

K is a constant of proportionality, called electrostatic force constant.
