The gravitational force is a force that attracts any two objects with mass. We call the gravitational force attractive because it always tries to pull masses together, it never pushes them apart. In fact, every object, including you, is pulling on every other object in the entire universe! The mathematical formula for gravitational force is F=GMmr2 F = G Mm r 2 where G is the gravitational constant. The acceleration g=F/m1 due to gravity on the Earth can be calculated by substituting the mass and radii of the Earth into the above equation and hence g= 9.81 m s-2.

Newton's universal law of gravitation: Every particle in the universe attracts every other particle with a forcealong a line joining them. ... Inequation form, this is F=GmMr2 F = G mM r 2 , where F is the magnitude of the gravitational force. G is thegravitational constant, given by G = 6.673 × 10−11 N·m2/kg2.
