1. (6+6/2,4+4/2) = (6,4)

2. Distance between Sita and Anita =(6-3)²+(1-4)² = 9+9 = 18 = 32

3. Distance between Gita and Sita = (6-3)²+(7-4)² = 9+9 = 32

Now, distance between Gita and Rita =

(9-6)²+(4-7)² = 9+9 = 32

So, Sita and Rita are equidistant from Gita.

Answer:

Sita, Gita, Rita and Anita are sitting at A(3,4), B(6,7), C(9,4), D(6,1) respectively.

(i)

Teacher tells Anjali to sit in the middle of the four students.

Middle of 4 students = Mid-point of BD and Midpoint of AC.

Thus, coordinates are,

==> (6 + 6/2, 7 + 1/2)

==> (6,4)

  • Therefore, coordinates are (6,4).

(ii)

Distance between Sita and Anita.

Use the distance formula.

d = √(x₂ - x₁)² + (y₂ - y₁)

==> √(6 - 3)² + (1 - 4)²

==> 3√2

  • Hence, distance is 3√2

(iii)

Gita = B(6,7)

The points Equidistant from B are A and C.

  • Hence, Sita and Rita are equidistant from Gita.
