Asexually reproducing offspring which are genetically and morphological similar individuals are called clones.
Yes, It was successful.
Finn Dorset lamb named Dolly a clone of sheep was the first artificially produced mammalian clone.

☆ The first Cloning is done to a sheep named Dolly.


☆ It was performed by Ian Wilmut and his colleagues in Scotland.

☆ During the process of Cloning Dolly, a cell was collected from the mammary gland of female Finn Dorset sheep.

☆ The egg was collected from a black face ewe sheep. The nucleus was removed.

☆ The nucleus of male seep was inserted into the egg of blackface ewe.

☆ This resulted the growth of Dolly.
