hey guys
kindly tell me that why the compound 1 is not going resonance whereas compound 4 is going resonance.
explain with diagram.

Answer:
Kindly go through explanation.
Explanation:
for resonance there must be conjugate system present. Matlab ek ke baad ek system, jaroori nhi hai ki conjugation sirf l.p or multiple bond ke form me ho. Conjugation ( + _ l.p/b.p ) ya fir (- _l.p/b.p) etc. ke form me bhi ho sakta hai.
Now take the example of the 1st option. here no type of conjugation is present. (ek chor ke ek system). hence no resonance.
In 4th option a special type of resonance called backbonding is present whose priority is greater than that of resonance and aromaticity.
Backbonding is a π coordimate bond that settles between an electron excess and electron deficient species belongs to 2rd or 3rd period only and of pπ-pπ or pπ- dπ type.
In 4th option
carbon consist of a lone pair (represented by -ve charge) and sulphur consist of vacant d orbital. Therefore a backbond is formed from carbon to sulphur of pπ-dπ type and thus increases the stability respectively.
