1. Measurement provides a standard for every day things and processes. From weight, temperature, length even time is a measurement and it does play a very important role in our lives. The money or currency we use is also a measurement.

2. In order to measure the time in an athletics meet, stopwatches are used. It conveys the total time taken by the athletes to complete the race. In case it is not available, table clock or the wrist watches are used as a substitute for measuring the approximate time taken by them

3. You can describe the motion of an object by its position, speed, direction, and acceleration. An object is moving if its position relative to a fixed point is changing. Even things that appear to be at rest move.

4. Types of Motion         Examples

• Circular              a) Motion of satellites around   planets.

                                        b)    Motion of car turning to a curved track

• Rotational   a) Motion of giant wheel

                                        b) Motion of wheels of  moving  vehicle

• Periodic                a) Motion of simple pendulum

                                   b) Motion of Earth on its own axis.
