Blood is also called as a connective tissue. Blood is red in colour due to the presence of pigment haemoglobin

The functions of blood are :-

☆ To transport Oxygen to each and every cell and take carbon dioxide

☆ To provide each and every cell with important nutrients such as glucose,amino acids etc

☆ Protecting the body from infections and from foreign bodies
