What do we need for finding area?

Height :- Given = 8 cm
Sum of parallel sides :- Not given

So we have to find out the sum of parallel sides.

Here we are given that each non parallel sides is of 10 cm
Let the parallel sides be a and b

Perimeter = sum of sides = 52 cm

=> a + b + 10 + 10 = 52

=> a + b = 52 - 20

=> a + b = 32

Now a + b = sum of parallel sides.

So we know the sum of parallel sides also, i.e. , 32 cm

So area of a trapezium = 1/2 × (sum of parallel sides) × height

=> 1/2 × (a + b) × h

=> 1/2 × 32 × 8

=> 16 × 8

=> 128 cm²

Answer :- 128 cm²

Hope it helps dear friend ☺️✌️

Here is your solutions

Given :-

Height of trapezium = 8 cm

parallel sides is of trapezium = 10 cm

Perimeter of trapezium = 52 cm

Here in question sum of parallel side not given :-

To find out the sum of parallel sides :-

Let

The parallel sides of trapezium be x and y .

Perimeter of trapezium = 52 cm.(given )

=> x + y + 10 + 10 = 52

=> x + y = 52 - 20

=> x + y = 32

x + y = 32 = sum of parallel sides.

Now

To find area of trapezium :-

we know that

Area of a trapezium = 1/2 × (sum of parallel sides) × height

=> 1/2 × (x + y) × h

=> 1/2 × 32 × 8

=> 16 × 8

=> 128 cm^2

Hence,

Area of trapezium is 128 cm^2

Hopeit helps you
