Promoter, in chemistry, substanceadded to a solid catalyst to improve its performance in a chemical reaction. By itself the promoter has little or nocatalytic effect. Some promotersinteract with active components of catalysts and thereby alter theirchemical effect on the catalyzed substance.

Hello...mate

A catalyst is a substance which decreases the activation energy of a chemical reaction without itself being changed at the end of the chemical reaction.

A promoter is an accelerator of catalysis, but not a catalyst by itself.

Hope it helps u..
Thnx
