taking the example of an element of atomic number 16. explain how the electronic configuration of the atom of an element relates to it's postion in the modern periodic table and how valency of an element is calculated on the basis of its atomic number.

There are group and period in the periodic table this relate to the atomic configuration.


How many electron is in the outermost cell an in the extrinsic configuration the last number tells which group are the atom I in.


How many cell are tere in the atom and in electronic configuration how many number are written tell which period is the atom in.



And from the group and period you can tell where is he atom lies in the periodic table.
