Let  us  assume  a  wheel as  shown in  figure, and  24rod spokes  in it.

Find  the moment  of  inertia of  wheel,

Mass of  wheel = 24M

Radius  of  wheel = L

We know  that, a  wheel having  mass of   m and  radius  r , has  inertia  equal to mr²

Hence,

Moment  of  inertia of wheel = mass of wheel ×( radius)²

                                                = 24M × (L)²

                                                 = 24ML²

Find  the  moment  of  inertia of rods,

First  we need  to find  mass of inertia of one rod,

mass of one  = M

lenght of one  rod = L

Inertia of  one  rod = 1/3×ML²

Inertia of 24 rods = 24 × ML²/3

                             = 8ML²

Moment of inertia  of  Whole wheel = 24ML² + 8ML² = 32ML²

Shubhendu8898: There are two possible solution
Shubhendu8898: let me explain
Shubhendu8898: Answer depends on axis ! if wheel is moving horizontally then. ans will ve 32ML² and if vertically 8ML²
Shubhendu8898: Will add both answers, dont worry!
