some roads are perpendicular at intersections. Because I know of at least One intersection at which the road do not intersect at 90 degree angles. it is not possible all the roads are mutually perpendicular. if the road is vertical then the vehicles not run on it.

if the road is vertical then the vehicles can't run on it . as the gravity and frictional force pulls it downward so it is impossible to run a can in vertical road . But if the road is horizontal then the vehicles can cut air , force of friction , gravity pulls it downward towards the crust . so the road is horizontal. some where due to rock it impossible to built horizontal road. so some where it is mutually perpendicular.
