A solid cone of radius 10 cm is cut into two parts through the midpoint of the height by parallel plane to its base find the ratio in the volumes of two parts?

Ratio will be 1:7

Because since the cones are similar

r is radius of top cone

(h/2)/h=r/10

r=5 cm

volume of top cone=25h(pi)/6 cm3

volume of bottom cone=100h(pi)/3 cm3

volume of remaining part of cone=

100h(pi)/3 cm3-25h(pi)/6 cm3

=175(pi)/6 cm3

ratio is

25h(pi)/6 cm3:175(pi)/6 cm3

= 1:7
