Yo!

Here's your answer,Sam! :)

Friction is ofcourse a necessary evil as most of the cases it is observed that friction does really plays a crucial role though it opposes the relative motion.

Example: 1)The worlds tallest Burj Khalifa has Friction as one of its cause of being a self supporting structure as the rods used in its base are placed close enough to produce frictional force supporting normal reaction.

2)Working of a ball point pen:The ball roles on the surface having friction so that we can write acco to our own wish. Its not possible on frictionless surface.

3)Frictional force produces torque which is responsible the wheels of vehicle to rotate .

4)Its static friction that helps in taking a turn on a normal/leveled road as it provides necessary centripetal force.

Hope that this helps you!
