Area of a ||gm

= Base × corresponding height.

When we will take AB as base, then height would be DM

so, area = AB × DM

=> 12 × 8

= 96 cm²

Now when we will take BC as base, then height would become BN

The area would be same as the figure is same.

=> BC × BN = 96

=> BC × 14 = 96

=> BC = 96/14

=> BC = 48/7 cm

= 6.85 cm(approx)

HII MATE!!

GIVEN-->ABCD IS IIGM,AB=12cm ALTITUDE CORRESPONDING TO SIDE AB AND AD IS DM=8cm,BN=14cm.

TO FIND-->BC

AS THE BASE IS AB AND HEIGHT IS DM

AREA OF IIGM ABCD = base×height
=AB×DM
=12×8
=96cm^2

Taking BC AS THE BASE AND BN AS THE HEIGHT,

AREA OF IIGM=base×height
96= BC×BN
96=BC×14
BC=96÷14
=6.8571cm

Thanks
I THINK IT HELPS....
