in Δ ABC,
DC/AC=tan 30°
h/4000+x=1/√3
√3h=4000+x. ......(1)
In ΔBDC,
DC/BC= tan 60°
h/x=√3
h=√3x ......(2)
from eq(1) &(2),
3x=4000+x
2x=4000
x=4000/2=2000 km
h=√3x= √3 *2000=1.732*2000=3464km
Hence, distance between earth and satellite is 3464 km.
