There are 5 classification of epithelial tissue :
1) SQUAMOUS EPITHELIAL TISSUE these cells are extremely thin and flat and form a delicate lining ..
this has 2 sub classification
i) SIMPLE SQUAMOUS EPITHELIAL TISSUE
it is found in alveoli , kidney,skin, etc.
where transportation of substances occurs through a selectively permeable membrane .

ii) STRATIFIED SQUAMOUS EPITHELIAL TISSUE
Found in skin and are arranged in layers preventing from wear and tear .


2) CUBOIDAL EPITHELIAL TISSUE
Found in pancreatic duct , salivary duct and it's function is secretion and it provides mechanical support .

3)COLUMNAR EPITHELIAL TISSUE
Found in stomach , intestine
function: stomach secrets gastric juices.

4) CILIATED COLUMNAR EPITHELIAL TISSUE
present in sperm duct, oviduct and nasal passage
Function it is helpful in movement / locomotion .
in nasal passage the function is to prevent the dust to enter .

5) GRANDULAR EPITHELIAL TISSUE
Present in stomach intestine. columnar epithilial tissue modifies to form this tissue
