)Somatic Cells.

)In meiosis I, homologous chromosomes separate, while in meiosis II, sister chromatids separate. Meiosis II produces 4 haploid daughter cells, whereas Meiosis I produces 2 diploid daughter cells.

)A diploid cell is a cell that contains two sets of chromosomes. This is double the haploid chromosome number. Each pair of chromosomes in a diploid cell is considered to be one homologous chromosome set.

4) The first cell division in meiosis, the process by which germ cells are formed. In reduction division, the chromosome number is reduced from diploid to haploid that's why first meiotic division is also known as reduction division.

)Gametes must be produced by meiosis because generally sexually reproducing organisms are diploid so if they produce gametes by mitosis then the zygote will be abnormal hence to reduce the chromosome number meiosis occurs in sexually reproducing organisms.
