=>RER means rough endoplasmic reticulum: it has ribosomes in its surface
it has two types of glycoprotein namely =>ribophorin 1 and =>ribophorin 2 or single recognition proteins
=> (SRP) a and
=> SRPb for attachment of ribosomes to its surface or membrane

=>eg: liver, pancreas cells ,goblet cells

=>SER means smooth endoplasmic reticulum
it doesn't have the ribosomes on its surface or membrane

=>function of endoplasmic reticulum
=>take part in metabolic activities
=>it provides the membranes to Golgi complex bodies
helps in synthesis of protein

_____________________________

 \large{\underline{\bold{RER}}}

➡️The full form of RER is Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum.

➡️Rough endoplasmic reticulum has got ribosomes on it's surface due to which it appear as rough.

➡️It acts as a channel which transports proteins and other minerals parts.

➡️Work of rough endoplasmic reticulum is to synthesise proteins.

 \large{\underline{\bold{SER}}}

➡️The full form of SER is Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum.

➡️The smooth endoplasmic reticulum don't have ribosomes present on its surface due to which it appear smooth.

➡️It is responsible for maintaining calcium ion concentration.

➡️Work of smooth endoplasmic reticulum is to synthesise lipids.
