Answer:

let p(x) = 2x³+3x²+px+q

& q(x) = x²-x-6

= x²-3x+2x-6

= x(x-3)+2(x-3)

= (x-3)(x+2)

Now ,

p(x) = 2x³+3x²+px+q

p(2) = 2(8)+3(4)+2p+q = 0

16+12+2p+q = 0

2p+q = -28 .............1

p(-3) = 2(-27)+3(9)-3p+q = 0

-56+27-3p+q = 0

-3p+q = 27

3p-q = -27 .................2

from 1&2

3p-q = -27

+ 2p+q = -28

5p = -55

p = -5

Then q = -18

hence p+q = -5 -18 = -23
