Given :   (2/13)(2x + 3y)  = 3  + (x -y)/4  , (4y + 5x)/3  = 2x  + 7 1/6

To Find :  Solve for x & y

Solution:

(2/13)(2x + 3y)  = 3  + (x -y)/4

multiplying both sides by 52

=> 8(2x + 3y)  = 156  + 13(x - y)

=> 16x + 24y  = 156 + 13x  - 13y

=> 3x  + 37y  = 156    Eq1

(4y + 5x)/3  = 2x  + 7 1/6

multiplying both sides by 6

=> 2(4y + 5x)  = 12x + 43

=>  8y  -  2x   = 43     Eq2

2*Eq1  + 3*Eq2

=> 74y  + 24y  = 312 + 129

=> 98y = 441

=> y = 4.5

3x  + 37y  = 156

=> 3x + 37(4.5) = 156

=> 3x = -10.5

=> x  = -3.5

x  = -3.5  , y = 4.5
