Question:-

divide the number 32 into two parts so that one part is 3 times larger than the other.

solve this question using x and y. The answer is 24,8.

Hi
one part is 3 times larger than the other
Let x and 3x represent those numbers
x + 3x = 32
4x = 32
x = 8, smaller of those two numbers. larger = 24 (3*8)
8 + 24 = 32

here is ur answer

let the integers be x and y

y=3x

A.C.Q.

x + y = 32

x+3x=32

4x=32

x=32/4

x=8

y=3x =3×8=24

the numbers are 24 and 8
