\large\underline\bold{Transportation\:of\:gases-}

There is the transportation of two gases :

  • Transportation of oxygen : It diffuses from lungs to blood. It combines with haemoglobin and form a red molecule oxyhemoglobin ( HbO_2 ) by reversible process. In this form, oxygen reaches to the tissues. Here, oxyhemoglobin dissociates to release off the oxygen again. Oxygen diffuses to tissues and bring out the oxidation of food releasing carbon dioxide and water with energy.
  • Transportation of carbon dioxide : CO_2 from tissues diffuse to the blood and combines with haemoglobin to form carbamino haemoglobin by reversible process. It is reached to lungs in this form. Near the lungs, it dissociates to give back the haemoglobin and Carbon dioxide.

Hi friend here is your answer

_________________________________________

The Blood is the medium for the transport of gases like oxygen and Carbon dioxide

About 97% of O2 is transported by Rbcs in blood remaining 3% is carried in dissolved state in plasama. Nearly 20-25% of CO2 is transported by Rbcs while 70% is transported as bicarbonate

About 7% of CO2 carried in dissolved state through plasama

Ye toh nulla pav tha let's see in details

1) Transport of Oxygen

Hameoglobin is pigment present in Rbcs. O2 binds with the Hameoglobin in reverse manner to form oxyhaemoglobin. Hemoglobin molecules can carry 4 oxygen atoms

O2 gets bound to the hemoglobin in lungd surface and gets dissociated at the tissues. Every 100 ml of Oxygenated blood can deliver around 5ml of O2 to tissues

2) Transport of CO2

i) CO2 is carried by Hameoglobin in the form of Carbamino Hameoglobin

ii) When partial pressure of CO2 is high more binding of CO2 takes place

iii) CO2 which is bound to the hemoglobin from the tissues is delivered to the alveoli

iv) Every 100 ml of deoxygenated blood delivers 4ml of CO2 to alveoli

v) Rbcs contain enzyme Carbonic anhydrase this enzyme facilitate reaction in both directions

Take the following reactions given below as reversible

1) CO2 + H2O - - - - - - > H2CO3

2) H2CO3 - - - - - - - - - > HCO3- + H+
