Hey there!
My current homework wants me to show that in the function y=x^4+ax^{2} +bx for a\ \textgreater \ 0 there is only one point on the graph where \frac{dy}{dx} equals zero. I do understand why that is the case graphically but I am struggeling to provide mathematical evidence. I tried the following:
\frac{dy}{dx}=4x^3+2ax+b[/tex][tex]=0

From here I dont know how to solve that equation. Can anybody help me? Tyvm
