Answer:

Present population = 150000

Increase percent = 4 %

population at the end of the 1st year = 150000+ ( 150000 + 4 / 100 ) = 156000

Population at the end 2nd year = 4% of 156000 = 4 / 100 × 156000 = 6240

= 156000 + 6240 = 162240 (b)

Thus, the population after 2 years is 162240.

{\underline{\underline{\large{\mathtt{ANSWER:-}}}}}

After 2 years,the population will be 162,240.

{\underline{\underline{\large{\mathtt{SOLUTION:-}}}}}

Given:-

  • Present population of the town = 150000
  • The population of the town increases 4% annually.

To find:-

  • The population after 2 years.

Solution:-

Let the population after 2 years will be x .

We know,

{\boxed{\sf{\green{Uniform\:rate\:of\: growth\:=\:p(1+\frac{r}{100})^n}}}}

Where,

p = present population = 150000

r = rate of interest= 4%

n = time=2 years.

\sf{After\:2\: years,\:the\: population\: will\:be = p(1+\frac{r}{100})^n}

\implies\sf{After\:2\: years,\:the\: population\: will\:be = 150000(1+\frac{4}{100})^2}

\implies\sf{After\:2\: years,\:the\: population\: will\:be = 150000(\frac{104}{100})^2}

\implies\sf{After\:2\: years,\:the\: population\: will\:be = 150000\times\frac{104}{100}\times\frac{104}{100}}

{\red{\sf{\implies{After\:2\: years,\:the\: population\: will\:be =162,240}}}}
