ANSWER:-

✔️ Above reaction is "Williamson's ether synthesis"

Note:-

  • in Williamson's ether synthesis Haloalkane should be 1° otherwise elimination may be possible

  • if haloalkane is more then 1°, Elimination product is alkane

So, answer of your question is

1. major product of given reaction is 2-methyl propene

C(CH3)2=CH2

2. Suitable Reaction :-

C(CH3)3-Cl + CH3ONa C(CH3)2=CH2

HCl is used as reagent.

and name of reaction is Williamson's ether synthesis.
