Elegy:- This is  a Form of  Poetry. it is  a song  of lament  and  mourning on the death of someone dear  to the  poet . it is a  special king  of  lyric poetry because it  is  invariably sad and  melancholic. It  celebrates death of those  who  died unwept, unhonoured and  unsung. Walt Whitman's 'O Captain ! My Captain' is  an elegy written on  the death of  the  american President Abraham Lincoln. In English, Milton's ' Lycidaas', Shelley's 'Adonais' and  Arnold's 'Thyrsis' are also well-known elegies.
