1. Write a short note on Mughal Empire
▶The Mughal Empire was established by Babur. He was connected with Timur , the rular of Iran , Iraq and Turkey, on father's side and Chengiz khan, ruler of the Mongol tribes, on his mother's side. The Mughals pointed with pride to their Timurid ancestors, because Timur had seized Delhi in 1398. Babur, a Timurid prince of the fourth generation established the Mughal Dynasty.
2. Ruling of Mughal
▶ The ruling of Mughal was very good as was that time many types of systems were also present.
Some of them are :
1 ) Administration :
i ) Administartion was very good that time , as in akbars time administration was very good , akbar not only established a vast empire , he also gave the country an efficient administartive set up.
2 ) Revenue system :
i ) Land-revenue or the tax was fixed according to the productivity of land. This revenue system was called Zabt.
ii ) The Zamindars could keep a certain percentege of what they recieved from the peasants.
3 ) Military administartion :
i ) The Mughal army consisted of infantry , cavalry , artillery and Navy.
ii ) The troops was very strong and powerfull and were provided by mansabdars.
3. The two ruler of Mughal Dynasty
1 ) Babur ( 1526 - 1530 )
▶Babur defeated Ibrahim Lodi at the famous Battle of panipat in 1526. Babur was now the ruler of Delhi , though not yet the of India.
The most powerfull chieftain against whom Babur had yet to fight wad Rana Sanga of Mewar. The Rana had organised a huge confederacy of Rajput chiefs against the Mughal invader, in 1527 babur complete control over the central India.
Babur next defeated the combined forces of Bengal and Bihar in 1529. Babur died in 1530.
2 ) Humayun ( 1530 - 1540 and 1555 - 1556 )
▶On ascending the throne , Humayun had to face a difficult task to establishing his empire.
Some points :
i ) Humayun's kingdom was surrounded by several hostile powers. These included the Afghan chief Sher Shah.
ii ) Humayun wandered from place to place. Finally the ruler of Iran provided him a place to stay, with his help Humayun could recapture kabul and kandhar in 1545.
iii ) Humayun's death
▶ Humayun did not live long to consolidate his power. In 1556 he died from a fall from his library building in purana Qila at Delhi.
