Total number of families n(S) = 1500.

(i) At most 1 girl:

P(choosing at most 1 girl at random) :

= > Number of families not having any girl + having 1 girl/ Number of families

= > (211 + 814)/1500

= > 1025/1500

= > 0.68.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(ii) At least 2 girls:

P(choosing at least 2 girls) :

= > Number of families having 2 or more girls/Number of families

= >  (475 + 814)/1500

= > 1289/1500

= > 0.85.

Hope it helps!

sangalaarushi09: Why you've added 211 in the 1st part
siddhartharao77: value of 0. = 211
sangalaarushi09: Bt it's asked at most 1 girl
sangalaarushi09: then why you've taken the no. of families which don't have a girl
siddhartharao77: Atmost = 0,1..
sangalaarushi09: Ohhkk
