Heya Friends !!

Calculate the wavelength of radiation emitted when an electron in a hydrogen atom undergoes transition from fourth energy level to second energy level .

Here, energy levels to be n = 4 and n = 2. Rydberg's equation allows to calculate the wavelength of the photon emitted by the electron during this transition.

1 /λ = R ⋅ ( 1/ n ² final − 1/ n ²initial )

λ - the wavelength of the emitted photon;

R - Rydberg's constant = 1.0974 ⋅ 10 7 m −1

n final = the final energy level - ie 2

n initial = the initial energy level - ie, 4
