So the reasons why Newlands' law of Octaves was discarded are
- The law started to flaw after the element Calcium.
- Iron resembles Nickel and Cobalt but was kept too away from them.
- Cobalt and Nickel were placed in the group of clorine, fluorine etc. which dont even have similar properties.
- When new elements were introduced they weren't able to be placed in that group.
