Two wires of equal length, one of copper and the other of manganin have the same thickness. Which one can be used for (i) electric transmission lines (ii) electric heating devices ? Why?​

(i) Copper wires can be used for electrical transmission lines because copper has lower resistivity. Power loss in the form of heat is minimum when electricity is passed through copper wires.

(ii) Manganin wires can be used for electrical heating devices because of it's high resistivity. A large amount of heat is produced when, electricity is passed through a manganin element.
