electric motor work on the principal that when a current carrying coil is placed beetween the two poles of magnet(south and north) it experience a equal and opposite force by which the coil rotate...
electric motor converts electric energy into me mechanical energy

electric motor is a rotating device.
it work of the principal that if a current carrying coil is placed between the two poles of magnet
such that the magnetic field kept perpendicular to direction of current then the coil exerts an equal and opposite force which move the coil.
the direction of force is determined by fleming left hand rule
