Verbs are classifed into two types

=> Intransitive

=> Transitive

✴A sentence with a transitive verb has a subject , a verb and also a direct object.

✴A direct object is the person/thing that is acted upon by the subject.

E.g -> Mark writes a letter.

✴In order to find a direct object the subject and the verb can be followed by the question what or whom.

✴If there is an answer to that question then the verb is transitive because there is a direct object.

✴If there is no answer , there is no direct object , thus verb is intransitive.
