Answers :

1. m( arc PYB ) = 140°

2. m( arc AXB ) = 180°

3. m( arc AZP ) = 40°

Step by step explanation :

Refer the attachment for the figure.

1) m( arc PYB ) = ?

Angle PAB = 140° ( Given )

m ( arc PYB ) = Angle PAB ( Definition of measure of minor arc )

.°. m( arc PYB ) = 140°

2) m( arc AXB ) = ?

Given that ,

Arc AXB is a semi circular arc.

We know that,

Angle inscibed in the semi circle is a right angle.

.°. Angle APB = 90°

Now,

m( Angle APB ) = 1/2 × m(arc AXB )

90° = 1/2 × m ( arc AXB )

180° = m( arc AXB )

3) m ( arc AZP ) = ?

We got the following values :

m ( arc AXB ) = 180°

m ( arc PYB ) = 140°

Measure of circle = 360°

.°. We can say that,

m( arc AZP ) = 360° - [ m( arc AXB ) + m( arc PYB )

= 360° - ( 180° + 140° )

= 360° - 320°

= 40°

m( arc AZP ) = 40°
